I. Introductions
- Committee Assignments – Decided to have one chairman, but may need state coordinator because our region so spread out.
- Talent I.D. - Jo Garuccio Utah and Western Wyo Chair, Bettina Younge is a possibility for Colorado, Eastern Wyo. ( need NM). Larry will ask Bettina if she is interested.
- Membership - Jim Flint has some ideas to try out in the off season
- Race Director - Chris, Phil
- P R Communications - Larry

- Ranking Coordinator - Larry, Phil, Chris
- Marketing – Carol, Chris, Jim
- Merchandising - Carol
- Officials - Jim
- Budget: Right now have about $5,000.00 in our account for the Rocky Mountain Region. Look at posting the Treasurers Report on Web-site.
- Rankings for 2001 are complete and will be presented at Boulder Peak
- Rankings for 2002
A. Duathlons - Decided to use subset of national ranking for regional rankings because there are only a few duathlons in the region.
- Triathlon – Will use only Rocky Mountain Races for regional rankings.
- Helmets – Region will spend up to $100.00 for three helmets per year. Must be Category III official.
- Merchandising: Look at regional logo for regional races.
- Regional Newsletter: Try an email newsletter. Maybe update the website to post news on. Try one like Utah in Colorado, and New Mexico Jim and Dan to work on it.
- Regional Awards – Discussed Jackets, Sweatshirts, Vests, etc, with regional logo and or patches. Marketing Committee to come up with recommendation.
- Items to bring to National Meeting
- Tiered Sanction fee for smaller races based on attendance.
- Gatorade is given out at larger races with more than 400 racers, how can USAT support smaller races?
- How many races have less than 400 participants?
- Is the number of sanctioned races dropping in our region?, nationally?
- How is the $7.00 for one-day license distributed?
- Regional championships for 2002, bids packets will be emailed to race directors, and maybe put on the regional web site. Race directors will be asked to email them back no later than October 15, and will be decided at our next regional meeting in early November.
- Next Meeting will be November 3rd in Morning or November 4th in Evening in Denver.
