Notes from the Feb 28th weekend
Board members that were present for a board meeting were Larry, Sue, Scott, Phil, and Rob.
Larry and Rob worked out some financial matter such as getting the ranking awards invoice, and the check request form submitted for the Dec conference call.

Larry also gave a hard copy of the Logo usage document to Rob for clothes and calendars.
Rob is moving forward on getting shirts for board members.

Scott Poston will assume the newsletter responsibilities from Sue and Jim.  Since we will send out the newsletter via timberline to the entire membership, what should we do with the yahoo group?  Larry does not do anything with it and does not monitor it so should it be cancelled? It was agreed not to delete it, yet.
Sue will take the secretary duties from Mary Sue.

Since Sue is taking the secretary duties, someone else needs to step into the Second VP role.  This was not discussed on Saturday, and Larry has put Scott into the Second VP slot on the web. The board needs to approve Scott or decide on someone else for Second VP.  Making Scott Second VP was later approved by the board members via email.

General Membership meeting:
Larry introduced the board members that were present, and handed out one ranking award.

USAT rep at registration:
Larry helped Phil, being what Phil said was the “bad guy”.  Larry (and later Penny on race day) made people go back to their cars to get picture IDs or not giving out packets if they were trying to pick up packets for other people. Phil, the race director liked someone from a USAT position to do this, but it takes a little thought not to screw up any of the forms. In December, did we approve a policy and/or procedures to determine which races and which people do this?  If not we need to and we can start by offering this service to regional championships.

Web site: We are not to have our own logo anymore so Larry reluctantly changed out our old mountainous logo for the more generic and national office approved logo.  Sorry, this was not Larry’s decision.
Larry did take some pictures on Saturday and put them on our web site.  He hopes to do more of this at sanctioned race he attends.

Tri Guide:  Jose has said he will take this over.  Larry got a power point presentation from the publishing company and forwarded on to Jose.  If anybody would like this, please let Jose know and he can send that out to you. A few key points from the power point are that they are not expecting to have this out until the first quarter of 2005 and they are planning on Denver/Boulder and Salt Lake as key marketing areas.  Jose will like to try to get Albuquerque as a third area.  And since it is not planned until 2005, do we have Rob do a 2004 calendar for goody bags?
